††††††††††††††††††† I Bought My First Hi-Fi††††††††††††††† © John Birch 2018.
††††††††† ††††††††††In the 1970ís I bought my first hi-fi. My brother said I was mad. He said, I could get a
††††††††††††††††††† brand new car for $3,500-. Why would you want to spend $500- on a hi-fi for. Stupid!
††††††††††† ††††††††I bought my hi-fi. And when the shop phoned to arrange delivery I said to my brother.
††††††††††††††††††† When itís delivered, please donít go near it.
††††††††††††††††††† What happened then, was, I got home, Friday night, and my brother had unpacked my †††††††††††††††††††
††††††††††††††††††† brand new hi-fi. And he said to me, he must have wrecked it. Because it didnít work now.
††††††††††††††††††† Dad said, weíll take it back to the shop tomorrow.
††††††††††††††††††† We took it back in the morning. The salesman knew what was wrong straight away. There
††††††††††††††††††† was a part at the back of the amplifier that my brother had connected the wrong way.
††††††††††††††††††† He switched it around the other way and it worked great.
††††††††††††††††††† I havenít ever regretted not buying a brand new car. I donít really want one. Iíve listened
††††††††††††††††††† to my hi-fi practically every night since. I like music.
