How
Much Can A Koala Bear © J. Birch 2011. somber mood - recitation - country
We
sat around the campfire
Till
about half past two
And
ev’ry body got drunk mate
But
I’m still feelin’ blue
Sydney
came over
He
brought his didge
We
buried her yesterday mate
Down
by the Harbour Bridge
I’ve
heard of a fair go mate
But
this thing, it just weren’t fair
You
see when Gum leaves
How
much can a Koala bear?
The
two of us, we drank till sixpence
But
then there weren’t anybody there
You
see when Gum leaves
How
much can a Koala bear?
We
met at a party
It
must have been a Sat’day night
It
lasted fifty years
She
put up a real fight
Anyway
here’s the sixpence
Don’t
worry about the change
Sydney’s
coming over
There’ll
be things to be arranged
First
two verses….….
This
is a wheelchair
These
are my hands
Do I
lie down and die?
Or
do I give it a try?
This
is a wheelchair
These
are my hands
Do I
lie down and die?
Or
do I give it a try?
I have got a friend
Her name is Jill
And Jack is, Inner Still
Last
verse five more times……..
Even
on the darkest day
There
are roses
And
if we stop to smell the roses
We
will see, Roses Need Rain…
Pause……….
The
two of us, we drank till sixpence
But
then there weren’t anybody there
You
see when Gum leaves
How
much can a Koala bear?
